80's progressive rock bands Styx and Yes announce dates for this summers "Progressive US Tour". The tour is scheduled to start in the first week of July and include 18 venues as well as a kick-off July 4th date to be announced. The rockers will wrap it up August 3rd in Mountain View, California.
Other dates include: Canandaigua, N.Y., at the CMAC Performing Arts Center July 7 and Mashantucket, Conn., at the MGM Grand Theatre At Foxwoods Resort July 8. Other cities include, Clarkston, MI., Woodenville, WA., Oklahoma City and Morrison, CO.
This summers Styx line-up will be Tommy Shaw and James "JY" Young on vocals and guitars, Lawrence Gowan on vocals and keyboards and a rhythm section spotlighting Todd Sucherman on drums and bassist Ricky Phillips. There could also be the possibility that original bassist Chuck Panozzo could make an appearance or two as well.
On the Yes side, the current line-up includes: bassist/co-founder Chris Squire, guitarist Steve Howe, drummer Alan White and vocalist Benoit David. Oliver Wakeman is scheduled to play with the band later this year but is not scheduled to play the "Progressive U.S. Tour". Instead, Yes will be reuniting with keyboardist Geoff Downes.
With a combined 80-years of making music, Yes and Styx are sure to give a great show this summer!
