Actors/Directors/Musicians and Comedy Icons Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer are doing something they have never done before; performing a six week, 30 city multi-media acoustic tour without wigs and electric instruments. The tour, aptly named, “Unwigged & Unplugged -An Evening with Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer”, kicks off April 17 in Vancouver and runs through May 31 in Milwaukee.
The trio is also currently recording a new Spinal Tap album that will be released May 26. It features “original studio versions” of the live songs on “This is Spinal Tap” and some new songs as well. Also available for digital download only, will be some bonus material.
Spinal Tap became a cult favorite in 1984 went they became the subject of the Rockumentry/ Mockumentary, ” This Is Spinal Tap”. Spinal Tap is also known as: David St. Hubbins (Michael McKean), Nigel Tufnel (Christopher Guest) & Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer)
