The American punk rock group, Social Distortion, was formed in 1978 in Fullerton, California. Often referred to as Social D or SxDx, the band is set to release " Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes" in January 2012.

The current line-up of Social D are, Mike Ness (vocals, guitars), Jonny Wickersham (guitars), Brent Harding (bass) and David Hidalgo, Jr. (drums). Since the formation of the band, it has had many members through it's door with Mike Ness being the only original member. (Second longtime member Denis Danell passed away in 2000 of a brain aneurysm.)

Since a 2 year hiatus/disbandment in 1985, Social Distortion has been going strong since 1986. Some of the bands hits include: "Ball and Chain" and "Story of My Life". Social Distortion has released 6 studio albums, 2 compilations, 2 DVD's and on live album. Look For Social D on tour and the release of the new album, " Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes" in 2012.
