The Scorpions have sold over 22 million records since the formation of the band in 1965. Their record sales makes them one of the most successful bands to blast out of Continental Europe.
In the 80's and early 90's the Scorpions hit it big with both 1984's rock anthem "Rock You Like a Hurricane," "Still Loving You," "Big City Nights," and the 1990 ballad "Wind of Change." Their hit album, "Love At First Sting" was released in 1984 and went double platinum within a few months. At the same time the racy Helmut Newton album cover of a man kissing a girl while tattooing her exposed thigh began to stir up controversy. MTV eventually coined them the name "The Ambassadors of Rock".
