Psychedelic Furs formed in England's Punk scene in 1977. Original members consisted of Richard Butler (vocals), Tim Butler (bass guitar), Duncan Kilburn (saxophone), Paul Wilson (drums) and Roger Morris (guitars). By 1979, this line up had expanded to a sextet with Vince Ely (ex-The Moors Murderers) replacing Wilson on drums and John Ashton being added on guitar.
The band enjoyed major success in both the U.K and then finally the U. S. in the 1980's. Best known for the bands U.S. Hits, "Pretty in Pink" and "Heartbreak Beat", The band also had sucess with, Love My Way" and "Heaven".
The band split in the early 1990s, with the Butler brothers going on to found Love Spit Love together with Richard Fortus. After spending most of the decade apart, now current members, Butler, Butler and Ashton re-formed The Psychedelic Furs in 2000.
