

Good news. Metallica will be back to North America after a hefty tour in Europe. The band has just announced new tour dates for the "Death Magnetic" machine for fall 2009. Metallica recently had a surprise performance on March 20th at South By Southwest and then shot back to Europe to round out the tour. So we thought.
Metallicas North American stint of concert dates will begin, September 14 at Sommet Center in Nashville, TN, and closes December 12 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA. The band will be hitting the road coast-to-coast with 26cities, picking up those areas that were first missed by the opening of the tour in 2008.
Among some of the cities lucky enough to see Metallica in round #2 are Dallas, Atlanta, Toronto and of course Madison Square Gardens, N.Y. and Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada. Tickets will be on sale in most areas on April 4. Indianapolis, Charlottesville, New York City and Anaheim will begin April 11. Pre-sale offers will be available to members of the official Metallica fan club, MetClub.
Metallica's 2008 album "Death Magnetic", topped the album sale charts in 25 countries worldwide. In the U.S., "Death Magnetic has enjoyed No. 1 success in rock, hard rock, and modern rock charts as well as a No.1 debut on the Billboard 200. Metallica is now the only band with five consecutive number one album debuts.
Metallica is now back in Europe getting reading to finish off the last phase of the European portion of the tour with a concert at the LG NEC Arena in Birmingham, England. The 40 concert remainder of the band's European tour, ends on August 2 at the Sonisphere Festival in Stevenage, England. All of Metallica's European headlining dates have sold out, with respect to their 10 summer festival appearances.
