Journey Concert Tour
New Journey 2010 Music News
Journey is no doubt one of the most influential bands of both the 70's and 80's and also a personal favorite of the 80's Child. Original singer, Steve Perry, had a unique and powerful voice that helped take the band from cult following to Mega-stars. 'Open Arms' is considered on of the top power ballads of all time. Journey has sold over 70 million albums and churned out hit after hit including, 'Any Way You Want It', "Only the Young', and the infamous 'Don't Stop Believin' which became the mantra for the Chicago White Sox during the 2005 World Series. It was also featured on the series finale of 'The Soprano's.
After a hiatus of 7 years, Journey reunited and and wrote the album 'Trial By Fire'. Steve Perry was diagnosed with a degenerative bone disease and unable to tour, so Journey went on without him using frontman Steve Augeri. After Augeri left, the band was again left without a singer. Neil Schon searched the YouTube archives and found the lead singer of a Journey cover band in Manila. After auditioning for Journey, Arnel Pineda became the new lead singer and is now currently touring with the band. It is like a scene from the movie 'Rockstar'. The controversy of Steve Perry fans vs. Arnel Pineda fans goes on. Still, with a new frontman, Journey had enjoyed a rather successful concert tour in 2009.
While
Journey may currently not be touring. You can still catch Neil Schon Band currently touring for 2010!
