Devo Concert Tour
New Devo 2012 Music News

The American band Devo, was formed in 1973 by it's members in Akron and Kent, Ohio. The name Devo comes from de-evolution, a concept that was the brain child and joke of Kent State University art students Gerald Casale and Bob Lewis. The art students used the concept of man regressing instead of progressing as a theme for a number of their art projects.

The longtime members of Devo, Mark Mothersbaugh, Bob Mothersbaugh, Gerald Casale and Bob Casale hit the world by storm in 1980 with the hit "Whip It" which became an instant Top 40 hit. Topping off at #14 on the charts, "Whip It" was what we now call classic synth-pop and new wave with a hint of punk. They quickly earned a cult following as well as heavy rotation on MTV.

In the years following, Devo has produced many unique singles like "Mongoloid", "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction", "Jocko Homo", "Secret Agent Man", "Girl U Want", "Working in a Coal Mine" and "Peek-a-Boo!". See the longtime members of Devo perform in concert this 2012!
