Beastie Boys became one of the first huge-selling rap groups Their 1986 debut album, "License to Ill" shot up the top of the charts. It was the first rap album to hit No. 1. Great singles like, "No Sleep 'til Brooklyn" and "Fight For Your Right to Party" and heavy rotation on MTV, made theses boys superstars of pop and hip-hop and first white rap group of any importance. Their second album, Paul's Boutique though underexposed, but praised critically, eventually went platinum. Constant success with the albums, "Check Your Head", " Ill Communication" (featuring the hit song "Sabotage") and "Hello Nasty" (winner of two Grammys) solidified the band as a force to be reckoned with.
