English rock group Asia was formed in 1981. The supergroup has included members from Yes, King Crimson, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Uriah Heep, U.K., Roxy Music, Wishbone Ash and The Buggles. Currently there are 2 distinct Asia groups performing at this time, Asia which is a reunion of the bands original members Geoff Downes, John Wetton, Steve Howe, Carl Palmer, and Asia featuring John Payne which features John Payne, Erik Norlander, Jay Schellen and Mitch Perry.

The band's first album released in 1982 gave the band commerical success and spawned hits like " Only Time Will Tell", "Heat of the Moment", "Sole Survivor" and "Wildest Dreams". Asia also had their hand in many memorable 80's videos that played on heavy rotation on MTV. Although their self-titled album was never again matched in success, Asia had many other great albums and other 80's hits including "The Smile Has Left Your Eyes" and "Don't Cry".
