A-ha has announced 3 new farewell tour dates for the U. S. and Tickets go on sale Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010 and Friday, February 5th, 2010. A-ha recently decided to call it quits after the success of the "Foot of the Mountain" album. According to the official A-ha community, the band stated, "We've literally lived the ultimate boy's adventure tale, through a longer, more rewarding career than anyone could hope for. Doing this now will give us a chance to get more involved in other meaningful aspects of life, be it humanitarian work, politics, or whatever else - and of course through new constellations in the field of art and music. We are retiring as a band, not as individuals."
Norwegians Pal Waaktaar and Magne Furuholmen, formed a-ha in the early '80s, later on joined by Morten Harket. Among their eight top ten singles are, "The Sun Always Shines On T. V." and the 80's anthem, "Take On Me", A-ha's video, which used groundbreaking techniques to meld real life and comic book like animation, received massive airplay on MTV. This solidified them as mega-stars and a-ha's album "Hunting High And Low" hit the top 10 in U.S.
A-ha's pop-synth sound made them a staple in the 80's. I probably don't need to stress, if you've ever wanted to see a-ha in concert, this will be your chance. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity.
